The problemA marketplace in beta. About a million lines of repeated, inconsistent code. Engineers struggled to change it; founders lacked confidence in the product.

My fixI rebuilt it around a clear structure: shared views, 350+ tRPC endpoints consolidated into one REST endpoint, and rules for the work. About 30,000 lines in two weeks. Fresh agents compared the rebuild with the original for feature coverage.

Leading at scale

Led development on a payments team moving over $1B a month.

The work covered payment accuracy, checkout reliability, and integrations in a live payments platform.

Hardcore engineering.

Reports from 3 days to about 2 minutes. About $15,000 a month in infrastructure costs removed. Feed requests from 300 database queries to 5, with p95 response time falling from 2 seconds to 200 milliseconds.

These results come from prior engineering, advisory, and contracting roles.
